Fueling Station Designs: Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) and Above-ground Storage Tanks (ASTs)

Lawrence & Associates (L&A) has developed conventional designs as well as creative, cost-effective solutions to meet our clients needs. In addition to UST and AST designs, L&A has also prepared designs for compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling facilities (see Vallejo City Unified School District project on our Design and Construction project page).

Project: Petroleum Fueling Facility Design
Client: Five Star

L&A provided civil engineering designs of piping and controls for the Five Star service station and tank site in Red Bluff, California.

• Two 20,000-gallon USTs
• Four automobile multi-product dispensers
• Card lock truck island with 7 diesel (mater-
satellite) and multi-product dispensers

L&A developed designs for new installations of tanks, dispensers, piping, slabs, electrical and control conduits, and spill containment related to petroleum fueling for underground tanks.

Project: Willows Truck Stop Design
Client: Soeth Farms

L&A developed tank and piping designs for the Willows Truck Stop

• High-volume truck-island with 7 diesel (master-satellite) dispensers
• Automobile island with 6 multi-product fuel dispensers (4 gasoline, 2 gasoline/diesel)
• Two 15,000-gallon gasoline ASTs and two 18,000-gallon diesel ASTs

The plans feature two single-walled 18,000-gallon ASTs containing diesel and red diesel and two double-walled 15,000-gallon gasoline ASTs. L&A provided site layout details; structural calculations for the tank footings, block walls, and slabs; tank, dispenser, piping, electrical and control conduit plans; and spill containment designs for the project.
Construction is scheduled to begin in Fall 2002.
